WORK AT KFORCE!

Consultant of the Quarter:  Shanta’ Stewart

When managers fought to extend Shanta’ Stewart’s assignment for a sixth time, even as other consultants were being let go, it was clear her internal audit work was something special.  Now, her outstanding performance and dedication have earned Stewart recognition as Kforce Consultant of the Quarter.

When Stewart first took her internal audit assignment with Navistar International, it was only supposed to last for three months.  But she quickly proved herself to be too valuable of an asset to let go so quickly.  Now, nearly three years later, her supervisors continue to go to bat to keep her in place, most recently in April.

“The managers over [Shanta’s] project began pushing their superiors to allow them to keep Shanta’ onboard for upcoming projects they felt she would be able to contribute strongly to,” said Farasha Cameron, Stewart’s Schaumberg, IL-based Kforce account manager.

With the authorizing manager honoring the subordinate manager’s request, Stewart received another extension and remains at Navistar today.  There, she is responsible for completing requests of external auditors related to the company’s pension, 401K and postretirement benefits plans.

Stewart says the key to being a great consultant is to treat it with as much respect and dedication as you would with any other position.

“Take each assignment seriously, just as you would a full time position,” she said.  “You never know what it may lead to.”

Stewart attributes her success as a consultant to being able to easily adapt to company culture and keeping the lines of communication open with each person she comes in contact with on the job.

For Stewart, her experience with Kforce has been nothing but positive.

“Everyone I have come in contact with at Kforce has been very professional and easy to work with,” she said.  “They have all made themselves available to me when I have questions and they always get back to me in a timely manner with the information I am looking for.”
